Burnell Pines

Woodstock New York Portrait | Burnell Pines

The Bearded One. Musician, craftsman all around interesting guy. I had seen some of his posts on Facebook and was intrigued so I went and looked him up. He has some videos up on YouTube and I was immediately drawn to him. Besides the imposing facial hair, which in person is pretty magnificent, he is a musician of great talent. Possessing a laid back vibe with hints of darkness and mystery. All the elements that would lead him to be a cool subject to photograph. When he showed up I commented that I was glad he didn’t cut his beard, to which he replied he just had, now that’s some tonsorial power. While photographing him I was instantly struck by his persona, Burnell has the kind of face that could have led a cavalry across the plains in a different era. Just awesome. His face held enough character to allow me to go really dramatic with my lighting. And in a few of the images he is timeless. Truly Deliberately Dark! Calvary leading face aside he was mellow and super relaxed in front of the camera. I love these images. Hope you guys do too. To check out more of Burnell go to: http://burnellpines.com/
