04 Jan Woodstock New York Artist Portrait | Lenny Kislin
I met Lenny some time ago via Facebook. He had seen some images of mine and had commented kindly about them. Over time we had talked about me doing a show that he curates. The show never materialized but my visit to his house left me deeply impressed. I came home after visiting me him and I told Lucia how amazing his place was, filled with his art work. Lenny is an assemblage artist. He finds odd unrelated things and turns them into works of art. Always with a very wry sense of humor, juxtapoing materials and creating three dimensional puns, wall hanging ironies. HE IS VERY TALENTED! Along with his wife Nancy they are an art making team. Reminds me of another couple that works together. Needless to say I was very keen on taking his portrait. So I asked him and Lenny graciously allowed me to come over and spend some time with him and his wife. This time I took Lucia because I thought she should see his work. She was as impressed as I was. The session lasted a little over an hour and we pulled off 3-4 wonderful images. Laughing and talking the entire time we got some of Lenny and Nancy’s history which added to the tapestry. Thanks Lenny and thank you Nancy. Go visit Lenny online and see some of his amazing art.
