Woodstock New York Author Portrait | Nancy Jainchill

I have been so remiss in updating this blog! Damn..

Ok back on the horse.

I recently was commissioned by Nancy Jainchill for an updated portrait for her web site.  I had wanted to do a very iconic and timeless image, something Irving Penn would do. Mr Penn is one of my favorite photographers. He was a relevant photographer for decades by not falling for every trend and always keeping a disciplined eye. His images are timeless. I wish to be timeless. So back to Nancy. I thought I would shoot for a black and white image, very contrasty with plenty of negative space. Strong eye contact and confidence. Nancy brought her A-game to the shoot and was very relaxed and poised in front of the camera. The shoot went quickly and we got a number of really nice images. Enjoy, and thank you Nancy.
