23 Feb Woodstock New York Portrait | Tani Tabbal
You know how I am always going on about hidden gems in Woodstock? Got to meet another one a couple days ago. Probably one of the best things about being a photographer to me is the opportunity to meet new people and to occupy the same space for even a brief time. I love being able to rub shoulders with some of the best. After posting one of the sessions last week I Facebook friended Susanna Ronner. After a couple text messages back and forth I asked her if she wanted to be part of my series. She passed but she did offer up her husband, drumming talent Tani Tabbal. She said he would be great. YEA!!!! No kidding, he was really great. Mellow, funny and a genuine star. Tani has been playing drums all his life and has toured with many of the great jazz ensembles. Go take a look at his Wikipedia entry and you get what I am talking about. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tani_Tabbal . Our session went super smoothly and netted many great images, I have included a nice selection here for you to view and enjoy. Susanna, his wife came along for the shoot and we got to spend some time together, and I hope we all get to see each other again. Thanks Tani!
